Lincoln County Adult Literacy is a volunteer community-based organization dedicated to helping adults in Lincoln County and Mescalero improve their reading, writing, and math skills through one-to-one tutoring by trained volunteers. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funded primarily by donations.
In addition to one-to-one basic literacy tutoring, the program offers computer skills training at three locations, life skills and pre-GED instruction at the Lincoln County Detention Center, literacy and employability skills training for residents of The Nest, and English instruction for English language learners throughout the community. All services offered free of charge.
Lincoln County Adult Literacy always welcomes new volunteers. Because we provide a diversity of services, we have a volunteer experience to satisfy the needs of every volunteer. For more information contact Robin Gilton at (575)258-7100. You can also visit our website at www.ReadBetterNow.org.
