SPRING 2023 (Ruidoso, New Mexico) DAN DEE CABINS, an iconic Ruidoso vacation destination, is celebrating its 85th year of hosting guests. Nestled in Ruidoso’s gorgeous and pristine Upper Canyon, Dan Dee Cabins first began offering spartan vacation and holiday shelters with limited conveniences in 1938. Since then, tourists from the greater Southwest and beyond, who wish to escape from the region’s furnace-blast heat in the summer, have ventured up into the cool fresh air of New Mexico’s Sacramento Mountains.
“I’m very grateful and proud to be carrying forth this warm and hospitable lodging tradition that goes back generations…” says Terry Christian, Dan Dee’s female sole proprietor. “We have had couples who’ve honeymooned here and then have come back to celebrate their 50th anniversary.” Honeymooners, family reunions, church groups, and baseball teams have all enjoyed the updated cabins, which include Studio, 1, 2 & 3 bedrooms. The property’s 5 acres include an outdoor jacuzzi and a children’s playground. And pets are welcome for a nominal fee.
