Co-Owner Vernon Lytle grew up on the farms in Hatch and is also the grandson of Jim Lytle, who developed the well-known Big Jim chile variety.

The Lytle family has grown chile in the Hatch Valley since 1931. We are considered to be the ORIGINAL chile growers that have helped to make Hatch, NM the Chile Capital of the World…

We have developed various chile varieties including the Big Jim which is the best-selling chile variety of all time.

MEET THE FAMILY

Jimmy Lytle is a third-generation chile farmer with the legacy of being the son of Jim Lytle (Big Jim), the founder of the Big Jim Chile variety.

Faron Lytle is the fourth-generation farmer in the family who carries on the Legacy and now owns, operates and grows all of our chile products in Hatch, NM.

Vernon & Tim Lytle sell the chile. They own and operate HATCH CHILE WORLD in Ruidoso, NM. Located in the heart of Midtown Ruidoso, this retail location showcases all of the Lytle Farms products including the FAMOUS HATCH GREEN CHILE FAMILY OF SALSAS AND SAUCES …and much more!
