The 12th Judicial District Attorney’s office represents Otero and Lincoln counties. In the 12th Judicial District, we are committed to holding offenders accountable for their actions while safeguarding the constitutional rights of all individuals. We prioritize the dignity of victims and their families, pursuing truth and justice with integrity and compassion. The 12th Judicial District is recognized as one of the leading districts in the state for the number of jury trials conducted.
This position requires knowledge of the criminal justice system, general office equipment, good typing, word processing skills and operational knowledge of spreadsheet programs. It also requires good math, grammar, proof-reading skills and organizational skills. As well as good customer relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively and follow directions and policies. The incumbent will be required to maintain calendars; prepare and maintain case files. As well as perform data entry in the Case Management System (CMS) and must have the ability and knowledge to merge documents and e-filing. Some preparation and drafting of legal documents may be required.
Pursuant to the New Mexico District Attorney’s Compensation Plan, the position is a covered, non-exempt position.
Some travel may be required between Otero and Lincoln counties.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, plus two (2) years’ work experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years’ work experience and/or education in a related field.
