SUMMARY:Christmas Tree Permit Sale
DESCRIPTION:The Lincoln National Forest will begin selling Christmas Tree permits on Tuesday\, November 13th. A limited number of permits will be sold on a first-come\, first-serve basis. An individual may purchase only one per household\, and up to four permits for four separate households. With a permit\, a tree may be cut in most areas within the Lincoln National Forest\, except in a 'wilderness' or designated 'closed' area. A map and cutting guidelines will accompany the permit to ensure you cut a tree only on National Forest System lands.\n\n \n\nAdditionally\, all fourth graders are eligible for a free Christmas Tree permit\, while supplies last\, through the Every Kid in a Park (EKIP) initiative. Fourth graders can visit any Forest Service office to receive a free fourth grade pass. When they present the pass or paper voucher with any accompanying parent or guardian\, they can receive a free Christmas Tree permit.
