Spencer Theater is calling for 50 to 60 young actors age 6-17 to participate in this summer’s Missoula Children’s Theatre whimsical musical play, “The Tortoise Versus The Hare,” a take-off on the classic fairy tale that features the fastest race in the land!
Both the auditions and the acting workshops are open to visitors and residents alike. There is no charge for the children participating. Auditions begin at 9 a.m. (sharp!) Monday, July 10 at the Spencer. No experience is necessary. Just wear sneakers, a big smile, and be committed to a week of rehearsals. Participants should arrive 30 minutes early so parents or guardians can fill out a brief consent form. After the two-hour audition, the selected cast will be announced. Key players will delve right into rehearsals that day. All other cast members will receive their rehearsal schedules.
Rehearsals are 2 hours each day and culminate in the Friday, July 14 performance.
With the continued sponsorship support of Ruidoso Ford Lincoln, this is the 20th summer the Spencer has offered the free acting workshops, which heighten skills in teamwork creative expression, timing, social interaction and communication.
Most of all, it’s fun!
