LOOK OUT…the Ruidoso Gospel Brunch with Jamie Estes and the Brunch Bunch (Dave Millsap, Bud Hewett, Pete Davis, Sam Shackelford and guest trumpet player Sam Ponder) is back and the guys are ready to kick off the 2018 season with some great new/old Gospel music. After a medical issue with Jamie that caused them to cancel the last several month’s schedules for 2017, they are coming back with a victorious vengeance. No preachin’ but be prepared to hear some happy testifying of new health for the new year! The brunch will start at Noon and go until 2:30 pm…come join us for all or a part.
Sometimes the songs that take you back, are the best ones to help you move forward. Gospel music takes us back to a time of raw simple emotions, where we can experience the joyous upbeat hand clappin’ of “Oh Happy Day” and the sweet melodious harmony of “Amazing Grace” wrapped up in one heartwarming time of music.
As always there will be plenty of hand clappin’…foot tappin’…fan wavin’…sing along upbeat old Spirituals and new Gospel music, plus some fantastic food and specialty drinks! Bring the family…join friends or just come to meet new friends…the fun is contagious! Old-fashioned hand fans will be provided in the event someone gets too excited and needs cooled down or egged on, whichever the case may be! No preachin’, but Will says you will get three ‘been to church’ credits!
If you haven’t seen Sacred Ground’s new ’lounge’ area with comfy leather seating you’re in for a treat…however, we don’t think you will be wanting to ‘lounge’ a lot during the brunch but, you may do a little bouncing to the music. We will have our regular menu along with Chef Zach’s creatively prepared specials made especially for the brunch.
If the Sacred Grounds parking lot is full, don’t give up…they will be offering FREE VALET PARKING, or you can go to the free public parking lot across the street. Take Grindstone Canyon Road across from Sacred Grounds and the parking lot will be on your right. There is a short new walking pathway from the parking lot that goes down to Sudderth directly across the street from Sacred Grounds.
Come grab a fan and let’s celebrate the beginning of a new year for good ole’ Gospel music…although it may not always sound like your Momma sang it!!!
