Ruidoso Dance Ensemble presents Coppelia

The ballet is performed by local dancers from the Ruidoso Dance Ensemble, the same dance troupe that performs the Nutcracker every December.
The full-length, classic tale is a livelier, more realistic story than most other ballet classics: it's a heart-warming story about two young lovers and a romantic toy-maker who thinks he has magical powers. Old Dr. Coppelius lets everyone believe his creation, Coppelia, a mechanical doll, is a real person, and so captivating is she that young Franz falls in love with her. A true marriage of romance and hilarity, the ballet ends with a touching reconciliation and the reality of love.
